Once again I am back with yet another pathetic attempt at apologising for my absence. However I do have a good reason this time.

First of all, it's getting towards the end of term now and so I have several deadlines to meet and have been super busy trying to cram work and lectures in etc.

Secondly I have been majorly ill for like the past week now. I think it's the flu but it's been horrible. My throat literally felt as though it had been attacked with a cheese grater- not cool! And my cough, well, I sounded like Marvel barking- also not cool, although he is pretty cool as far as dog coolness goes. And now my nose is either dripping (gross I know sorry) or blocked up, and then there was the vomiting, ah lovely. So not good really, and now I'm stressing because I don't feel in the right mindset to do work because of feeling so rubbish, but knowing I'm running out of time doesn't help! Somebody send me a care package and an escape rope!


Anyway, I'm hoping the worst has come and gone and I'm drinking like a gazillion lucozades, which I know, bad for my teeth, but they are like the only thing that makes me feel a bit better because it's restoring my sugar levels, seeing as I'm not eating much. I did however manage some scrambled egg on toast. Weird that, actually because scrambled eggs usually make me sick nowadays, and now, that I am sick, and they made me feel better!

Anyway, again, I am hoping to do some lovely blog posts over the easter break, and I'll try and attempt some more either this week or next! But right now I have to focus on getting myself better and my dissertation!

Sorry, I've been rather busy for the past week so haven't been very active on here, but thought I'd write a little post for you on this gloomy Saturday.

Now this fake tan product I have been using for years, it is the first proper fake tan that I really discovered and started using, I think I was about 14 when I first used it. Of course I probably suffered the accidental orangeness that everyone goes through, but to be honest I still occasionally suffer that!

This product is great for students because of how cheap it is, I think it's usually about £3.99 but I'm pretty certain I've picked it up for less before. That is a seriously good price compared to some of its competitors.

I've honestly had my ups and downs with this products. I used it all the time for about four years and it was fool proof, either that or I just hadn't discovered any other kinds. I then stopped using it because I found that it peeled off and faded rather patchy especially in the elbow creases (is that what we call them?). So after that I started using other products. I did however about two years ago go back to using this and found that it didn't go so patchy anymore, so whether my skin's condition has improved or the formula has. It does still sometimes so a bit patchy when fading but I think that is somewhat unavoidable with any fake tan.

The colour is great and the main reason I've stuck by this product it due to it's really dark result. I think St Moriz does give the darkest colour, which is great if you want a super bronzed glow. It's also not orangey which is fab. Compared to its cousin product shall we say, St Tropez, I think for the money it does a better job of tanning.

The smell is not great, in fact this seems to be one of the only tanning products I've tried where there isn't really a nicer smell attempting to cover up the fake tan smell. This, to me, purely smells of fake tan really. However this doesn't really bother me because you are going to get that either way, it is inevitable really. So this isn't necessarily a negative point, it's just to be expected.

It's easy to apply and has, like the St Tropez, the green tint to the mousse with I think adds the more brown colour rather than orange. It dries relatively quickly too but I would suggest air drying for a bit before applying clothes.

Overall I would recommend this product, mostly for students. It is so cheap and will not break the bank any time soon. It also lasts a really long time, you could get at least ten applications out of one bottle I'd say, which is fantastic! If you don't mind the smell of fake tan, this could be a life saver for anyone who wants a quick tan that is a lovely dark rich colour.

Today I'm back with a little lifestyle and food post. I was fortunate in that I gave myself a day off (although I feel I do that too much ;) ) and myself and friend Sydney decided it'd be a really cute trip/adventure if we went out for lunch somewhere new.

If you have read previous blog posts of mine, then you may have read a post where I told you all that I was having to go Gluten free. If you want to read that post, click here.

So of course this meant finding somewhere that did Gluten free food. We did a bit of research before hand and came across this little cafe - Southsea Coffee. I didn't end up taking any photos of the outside because it was a bit gloomy and we just wanted to get inside to be honest.

It was very busy when we entered and very hot due to how many people were in there. There were a lot of students on laptop and writers doing work, which actually gave the place character.

We sat down at a little stool area by the front window and perused the menu for a few minutes. We both ordered 'The Plate' which came with Cheddar Cheese, Brie, Chutney, Ham, Rocket, Pickle and bread (I ordered gluten free bread). We also got milkshakes- I got a strawberry and Sydney got a peanut butter one I think.

The service was great and very friendly, and our milkshakes came very soon after ordering. They were delicious and possibly the best milkshakes I've tasted. They tasted fresh and made from real ingredients. I could really taste the strawberry!


Our food came shortly afterwards, and for £7.50 I was impressed by our meals. It was the perfect size for a lunch and it looked so cute on it's wooden block and was presented so carefully. It was lovely to treat myself to good food for once rather than food that is likely to clog my arteries! (haha!). I'd also never had Brie before and I loved it!



It was a really lovely aternoon and it was great to catch up and chat about our TV shows and our lives. I was thrilled with the gluten free bread as it tasted so much nicer than other gluten free breads I've tried. I will write another post about this at a later date, but I have to say that it was nice to find somewhere that was reasonably priced and where the gluten free options were available at the same prices.

I will definitely be going back to Southsea Coffee, whether it be for lunch, or just one of their yummy milkshakes!

This week I want to talk about one of my favourite brands- Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter. If you are a fan of fake tan and haven't tried this brand, what have you been doing? I absolutely adore Cocoa Brown and think it has moved into my number one spot in terms of fake tans.

Before now I'd only tried the 1 Hour Dark Tan (Check out my review here), and loved it, so when I saw this I was so keen to try it out.

Gradual bronzers are great for a lighter natural glow, but usually I'm not fussed with them. I find them to be a bit tedious, and maybe it's because I'm lazy at applying moisturisers every day, but I just tend not to go for them.

However, this product is fantastic because it gives you a great looking glow after just one use, and it lasts well too. It also doesn't fade patchy, but goes gradually and evenly.

The colour of the tan is one of the best and leaves you with a natural tan rather than anything orange.

It left my skin feeling extra soft and shiny which made me feel great.

I just think this is brilliant for those who aren't hardcore tanners but want a little boost. It's easy to apply, and goes on really well, and will not take up all your time. Just two coats of this bad boy and you'll be ready to glow!

Hello guys,

So as some of you may be aware if you follow the blog regularly, that I am a student. I am currently in my final year of study, studying Creative and Media Writing. University life comes with many challenges and experiences so I thought I'd share with you my top tips for 3rd years or any year for that matter. Enjoy :)

1.) Never force yourself to be someone you're not. There is no point because you'll end up being friends with the wrong people. This include never forcing yourself to do something you're not comfortable with. You must stay true to who you are, as it's easy to be led astray.

2.) Budget Budget Budget. It's extremely hard to do especially with rent, bills and food to buy. But saving here and there can be great and you can decide to treat yourself then from time to time. Spending all of your loan at once on something silly is going to be a massive regret.

3.) Don't be stingy with heating. This may be tricky as it obviously costs more to have the heating on longer, but I assure you it's worth spending a few extra pounds. It's not nice being able to see your breath in your bedroom. You don't want to get ill do you now? Put the heating on, don't freeze.

4.) Know your limits. Some people love to drink alcohol and can drink loads before losing control, others can't drink as much before feeling drunk. Some people don't like drinking at all. This is all okay as everyone is different, but it's important for you and others around you, to know this. Don't expect someone else to drink 10 pints, just because you can, and vice versa they shouldn't expect it from you. It's also completely okay to not drink at all, I promise you there are plenty of others who don't too.

5.) It's okay not to be okay. If you are not enjoying the uni experience, do not be afraid to speak to someone. It's okay if you decide that uni is not for you, but hiding it and putting yourself through misery is not worth it. Talk to your parents, they'll understand. They just want you to be happy.

So I hope if there are some aspiring students out there, that this has helped in somewhere. And maybe some of you are 3rd years too and can relate. What are your top tips for students? I'd like to hear them!
