Hey lovelies,
So I've just gotten back to Portsmouth after a wonderful Easter break back home. I loved getting to see my family and friends and of course my puppy, who turned one last week and he had a party and a cake - how adorable. But now, the break is over sadly and I have had to return to Portsmouth and Uni for my last semester, which really isn't a semester as there aren't really any seminars or lectures but I do have one exam in a couple of weeks so lots of revision - eugh!
I've been really desperate to go on a holiday this year, and I've been nagging my boyfriend for almost two years now to come to Disneyland with me ( the most magical place ever) - poor guy! But we finally decided that we would go this summer but I realised it would work out better to book early for next year (sad face - I have to wait) so we think we are going to have to postpone it! So now I have been looking into sun holidays, but again I don't know whether to save that money to go out on little day trips over summer etc. That might be nice. Anyway I'm rambling on.

It's nice to be back for this year's final hurdle in Portsmouth and so far luckily the weather has been lush. Got to actually 'revise' in the garden the other day and yesterday myself and my house mates went to the beach and then played mini golf ( I won) and then finished off the afternoon with an ice cream! I'm hoping the weather holds out until after my exam so I can properly enjoy it. Fingers crossed.
I will hopefully be posting about pretty spring things soon and bits and bobs that I have bought for Spring/summer, so keep your eyes peeled!
Anyway how have you all been? I'd love to hear from you.

We spend all year waiting for our summer holidays whether they be a sunny beach holiday or a bagpacking scottish wildlife holiday, we can't wait to start packing. But are you ready for your holiday? Some of our holidays can be very costly and it seems too much to pamper ourselves before we go, even though we may need it. However not all beauty products are expensive. Here are my budget beauty tips and holiday essentials that will assure that you are ready for your much deserved holiday without splashing out too much cash!
Before you go:
Boots Simply Sensitive range will assure your skin will be squeaky clean, fresh and nourished just in time for your holiday. Simply Sensitive's face wipes are perfect for popping in your holiday bag for quick make up removal!

Why not have a pampering evening a few nights before and try a face pack. These little budget beauties are wonderful for giving you a relaxing, refreshing summery boost! Just what you need before your holiday!
There is nothing worst than dry, dull looking skin. Ditch the dangerous tanning this year and switch to the healthier option of Dove's Summer Glow. This stuff it a god send. It gives you a glorious even, natural looking tan. Rub in some of this lotion before going away to have a gorgeous summery glow. Beach ready!
Get rid of those black heads and dry skin around the nose with these tea tree nose strips. Perfect for clearless/flawless skin before your holiday!
Try waxing instead of shaving- it'll last much longer meaning you are stress free whilst relaxing on holiday! Plus- no shaving rashes or cuts... that doesn't look good at the beach!
Do not forget some strong sun lotion. Tanning, burning, whatever, it is still essentially damaging your skin! Find one with the highest factor possible to ensure your skin stays super beautiful.
Hair can get very dry and brittle on a hot holiday or even a cold windy one, so make sure you have an answer to it. Tresemme's Platinum Strength serum will recover hair damage from up to 2 years! Amazing!!
June 21st marks the first day of summer, and not everyone knows that. Some people believe as soon as the sun comes out, that summer has started or that the 1st June marks its beginning, however the summer solstice actually is the 21st June. It is also the longest day!
Of course I broke up for my 'summer' holidays on the 31st May, and I don't return to University until September. So there is a lot of time for me to try new things this holiday. So I thought 'why not blog about it?' and blog about it I shall!
1.) First of all, and this is a task I've been telling myself I'll do for years now and that is getting fitter. I'm not THAT unfit, but I'd love to tone up a little around the belly section. Don't get me wrong, I have learnt to love my body, and everyone else should too. But if you fancy getting in better shape, toning up or exercising for fun, summer is the perfect time to do so! I started the 30 Day Abs Challenge, and managed the first 5 days, but with the arrival of our new pup Marvel, every free bit of time I have, I prefer to lounge on the sofa! However seeing as I have about 3 months away from University, I have more than enough time to make a better schedule. Maybe do some yoga on the Wii Fit!

wonderful gift of a Great British Bake Off recipe book- marvellous! So this summer I want to try out some of the lush recipes I have found in there. Perhaps i'll start off with a simple recipe of a baguette, then later become a baking genius and equal Paul Hollywood's and Mary Berry's cooking skills- although let's face it, that probably isn't going to happen. When I was in year 7, we were baking pastries and I designed what I called 'Cheese and Onion Cones' which basically were what they sound like. However I ended up having to rename and redesign them into 'Cheese and Onion Slugs'. They don't sound great but to be honest the tasted great!

3.) My hair has been growing out now for a long time, and it's finally fairly long. However I really want it longer. For some reason my hair is rather thin and dry and gets split ends rather quickly, despite the fact I tend to stay away from heat stylers! So maybe I'll find some magical and majestic fruit that makes your hair grow longer and stronger, but if that fails I really want to try some different products and if anyone knows any ways to make hair grow I'll take them! Long hair is great in summer, sometimes it can be quite hot, but having lushess long beachy curls is one of many dreams of mine!

What new things will you all be trying this summer?
See you Thursday! Keep day dreaming and be strong! X
Okay so I know it is not Summer until 21st June, but seeing as we have been having lovely spring weather(that feels somewhat summery) I thought I'd touch upon the weather in Britain. You see, sunshine doesn't really exist much in Britain, and when it does it is usually accompanied by wind, rain or even snow. I find it kind of funny, how we Brits react to the sunshine, so I thought a blog post was a must.
You know it's Summer in Britain when....
1.) You can't go anywhere without smelling suncream..
2.) The meat shelves in supermarkets are empty...
3.) Everyone is having a BBQ...
4.) People turn into lobsters even at 20 degrees...
5.) You get deafened by the noise of hundreds of flip flops...
6.) It's time to get the paddling pools out...
7.) You hear that glorious sound of the ice cream van...
8.) Everyone is sat outside... gardens, pubs, parks... you can't escape us...
9.) Bowls of water are outside every holiday shop, for thirsty dogs...
10.) Wasps.. WASPS... AHHH

11.) Dads become masters of BBQ tools...
12.) Mothers become over protective and make sure the food is near to charcoal just to make sure it's cooked properly....
13.) Kids wear those sun hats that have the flap bit on the back that covers their shoulders...
14.) Fruit suddenly become more popular...
15.) Ice Lollies are the after school treat...
16.) Beaches are packed even though its actually still fairly cold... but the sun is out so...
17.) The first sight of any existent sun, means everyone starts sunbathing...
18.) Old women apparently like to sunbathe too...
19.) Sleeping becomes difficult because of the 'heat' and to be honest, the pain of sunburn...
20.) After a while everyone decides it's 'just too hot to do anything' and we all go inside...
That pretty much sums us up I think. If you have anymore please comment and let me know!

I haven't written in a while, and for that I am deeply sorry (I hope you haven't been too bored- I'm sure you haven't!). I've been really thinking recently about what is a worthy blog post to write, and one that people would really enjoy.
Okay, so this one isn't for everyone, but i've been meaning to start reviewing products and writing about them, so I thought i'd start today. The products I am going to be reviewing today is Tanning products- I know, some of you will be turning you nose up at this post! Sorry!
Although that may be true, I'll tell you a little bit about why I am writing this and tanning products. Some people out there are so lucky, to have darker skin that bronzes beautifully under the sun beams. Other ( such as myself) are not so lucky in that area. I'm am speaking on behalf of the population who have fair, pale skin and burn rather than tan. Ah, this is where my reviews come in. SO tanning naturally feels great it is of coruse very dangerous, and although I am pale and often wish I had darker skin, I would not change my skin for anything. I would much prefer to use fake tan, that I can create a tan all year round that doesn't damage my skin, than go out in the sun and permanently damage my skin. Not only can it lead to skin conditions, but when you get old you'll have really wrinkly skin. So to all you pale folk who hate their skin, stop! Its not the end of the world, and these products not only keep you safe, but are cheap as well!!
Product number 1.)
Garnier Body- Summer Body
This product is fantastic. It may cost around £5, which to some student may still be a bit pricey, but it honestly does last quite a while. I've had this bottle since last summer, and although I did not use it every night and only used it when I needed it, I still have enough left. Of course all products with a tanning ingredients seem to have a smell, and to be honest all of them will have a slight smell because of that ingredient. So getting a product that doesn't smell will bequite hard!! HOWEVER this Garnier Summer Body smells good. Its blended with natural apricot extracts which help keep the 'tan' smell at bay for a while. It's also a moisturising gradual tan that builds up the more you apply it, which not only makes you tanning process seem more natural but it leaves your skin in a great soft condition. It really does make your skin glow. Just be careful to either wear gloves of wash your hands well after use- I made this mistake and have very orange palms the next day!!
Product number 2.)
St. Moriz- Instant self tanning mist.
Although this tan is instant, I wouldn't reccommend putting it on straight before you go out as it does smell very strong! Put it on before bed and shower off in the morning. Althought it's instant it also lasts a few days, like a spray tan would. Being instant is great because you can really see where you've applied already, so you can avoid streaks or missed patches! I absolutely love this product as its only about £2 in some shops and last ages. You can get it in a lotion form, a mist/spray form or mousse. I personally prefered the mousse as I felt it applied better to my skin. But that's just me! I would highly reccommend this product!
Product number 3.)
Bronze Ambition-Glow'N'Go
This product is fantastic for those who don't have time to go through the lengthy tanning process. This wash on wash off tanning lotion is great for applying if you're in a hurry or about to go out. You can pop it in your bag for quick cover ups. It also smells great. Just be CAREFUL though, as it will go on light coloured clothing- so leave to dry before applying clothes and try and avoid white!
Product number 4.)
Nip and Fab-365 Body Glow Fix
This product I am yet to decide on. It smells good and is a nice clear gell, however I am yet to have results with it. My friend is currently trying it out for me, so as soon as weget results i'll perhaps upload it. I cannot tell whether this product works on my skin or not, whether this was because when I first tried it I already had another tanning product on or not.
Please feel free to agree or disagree in the comment box and let me know what you think about these products! Hope you have enjoyed this post and that it's been to use.
Happy tanning!!
